Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce leakage of a liquid stored in a liquid storage chamber from a head.SOLUTION: A composite machine 10 includes: an ink cartridge 30 which has a storage chamber 57 of ink and is opened to the atmosphere; a tank 103 that has a communication port 184 from which ink flows from the storage chamber 57 and a communication port 128 supplying ink and is opened to the atmosphere; and a nozzle 29 which discharges the ink supplied from the storage chamber 160. The storage chamber 160 is positioned in a front side of the nozzle 29, and has a liquid storage space below a liquid surface of the ink of such a maximum amount as to be stored and an atmosphere communication space above the liquid surface. The communication ports 184 and 128 communicate with the liquid storage space. The storage chamber 57 is divided into a storage chamber 32, a storage chamber 33 and an ink valve chamber 35. The communication port 184 communicates with the ink valve chamber 35. A capacity of a rear portion of the communication port 128 in the atmosphere communication space is larger than the total of capacities of each chamber 33 and 35 and a capacity of a front portion of the communication port 128 in the liquid storage space.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
