Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shielding device capable of smoothly lowering a shielding material to a lower limit even when pulling force acts on the shielding material when the shielding material is caused to descend by self-weight.SOLUTION: In a pleat screen (a shielding device), when a screen 4 is caused to descend by self-weight by rotating a winding shaft 10 by the self-weight of the screen 4 (a shielding material) and a bottom rail 5 (a shielding material), a pulling force acts on the screen 4 due to the contraction of the screen 4. The pleat screen has a speed adjustment unit 36 for adjusting the self-weight descent speed of the bottom rail 5, and the bottom rail 5 is attached to the lower end part of the screen 4. The speed adjustment unit 36 is configured to reduce braking force applied to the winding shaft 10, and the braking force becomes the minimum braking force at least between the position where the screen 4 is lowered only by the self-weight and the lower limit thereof, when the bottom rail 5 is caused to descend by the self-weight.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
