PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system which can respond to a request of a user and execute energy saving more reliably.SOLUTION: An image forming system 27 includes an image forming apparatus 11 and an imaging apparatus 41. The image forming apparatus 11 includes a detection unit 31, a determination unit 32, and a mode transition control unit 33. The detection unit 31 detects receiving a captured image transmitted by a transmission control unit 46. The determination unit 32 determines whether a user using the image forming apparatus 11 is included in the captured image detected by the detection unit 31. The mode transition control unit 33 controls, when the determination unit 32 determines that the user is included in the captured image, the mode to be changed from second mode to first mode, and controls, when the user is not included in the captured image, the second mode to be maintained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
