Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an alternator, the control device being able to securely reduce change in tension of a transmission belt, resulting from change in rotation of an engine.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a control device for an alternator driven by an engine via a transmission belt stretched between an engine pulley and an alternator pulley. The alternator includes: a stator; a rotor that generates a magnetic flux for inducing voltage in the stator; and switching means that switches between supply and stop of supply of excitation current to the rotor. In a case where the peripheral speed of the engine pulley is lower than a predetermined peripheral speed and is lower than the peripheral speed of the alternator pulley, the switching means is controlled to supply excitation current to the rotor. In a case where the peripheral speed of the engine pulley is lower than the predetermined peripheral speed and is equal to or higher than the peripheral speed of the alternator pulley, the switching means is controlled to stop supply of excitation current to the rotor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
