Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump that enables a rotor inlet with wider area than conventional pumps of the pitot type, reduces velocity characteristics in a pump inlet, and improves an NPSH (net positive suction head).SOLUTION: A centrifugal pump 10 of the pitot type is structured with axially arranged inlet 40 and discharge features 90, 96 positioned on opposing axial sides of a rotor 30, the rotor being journaled between a rotating sleeve 130 and a suction inlet 86, the rotating sleeve being concentric with a discharge tube 94 and gear-driven by a drive mechanism 120.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
