Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main bearing for a crank of an internal combustion engine superior in foreign matter discharging performance.SOLUTION: In a main bearing rotatably supporting a journal portion, first and second half-split bearings are constituted to form an axial groove extended over the while length in an axial direction, of the main bearing together at an inner peripheral face side of butting parts when combined, and the first and second half-split bearings have main cylindrical portions including circumferential central portions of the half-split bearings, and crush relief portions, an oil groove is formed on an inner peripheral face of the first half-split bearing, both end portions in a circumferential direction, of the oil groove are opened to both end faces in the circumferential direction, of the first half-split bearing, a partial groove is formed on an inner peripheral face of the second half-split bearing, the partial groove is opened only to the circumferential end face at a front side in the rotating direction of the crank shaft, of two circumferential end faces of the second half-split bearing, centers of groove widths of the oil groove and the partial groove are matched with each other, the oil groove and the partial groove have a relationship to communicate fluids to each other, and a groove depth of the partial groove is more than a groove depth of the oil groove in the fluid circulation portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
