Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve fuel economy in a valve device of engine including a valve stop mechanism for stopping a valve opening operation of a poppet valve during a reduced cylinder operation of an engine.SOLUTION: A valve device of engine includes a poppet valve (intake valve 13, exhaust valve 14), valve springs 15, 16, swing arms (43, 44), pivot parts (45c, 46c) and valve stop mechanisms (45d, 46d). The valve stop mechanism is constituted so as to stop a valve opening operation of the poppet valve by displacing the pivot part when a cam part pushes the swing arm, during a reduced cylinder operation of the engine. The valve spring is constituted so that the poppet valve opens by a predetermined minute amount against an energizing force of the valve spring when the cam part pushes the swing arm, at the time when the valve stop mechanism is stopping the valve opening operation of the poppet valve.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
