Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam follower capable of prolonging the service life in addition to reduction in the rolling friction of a rolling body and a shaft body and increase in a rotation speed of the rolling body, and having high rotation responsiveness by making the rolling body lightweight.SOLUTION: A cam follower 1 comprises: a rolling body 4 which consists of a magnetic substance and includes a columnar hollow part 3 defined by a cylindrical inner peripheral surface 2; a shaft body 7 which is disposed in the hollow part 3 of the rolling body 4 while keeping an annular gap 6, on an outer peripheral surface 5, to the inner peripheral surface 2; static pressure gas bearing means 8 which supports the rolling body 4 by a static pressure gas in a non-contact manner with respect to a radial direction relative to the shaft body 7 and is supported by the shaft body 7; magnetic bearing means 9 which supports the rolling body 4 in a non-contact manner by a magnetic force with respect to an axial direction B that is a thrust direction, relative to the shaft body 7 and is supported by the shaft body 7; and support means 10 which supports the shaft body 7 in a cantilever manner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
