Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system in which safety ensuring and punctuality maintenance can compatibly be observed when an abnormality of train wireless communication occurs.SOLUTION: In an embodiment of this invention, a wireless train control system comprises on-board side control devices installed respectively in plural trains running on a rail, plural train detectors installed on the rail and ground side control devices which have radio devices to maintain wireless communication with the on-board side control devices and receiver devices to receive information from the train detectors. When wireless communication with a train in the first section of the rail ceases, the ground side control devices command, with wireless communication, each train in the section to stop urgently by specifying the section as an emergency stop region and inhibit trains running toward the section from entering the section. Also, when the ground side control device receive a release instruction from a user to release the emergency stop of the train, it judges whether the train, with which communication ceases, is in the second section of the rail based on information from the train detectors and when it finds the train in the second section, it releases the trains in the first section from stopping and permits other trains to enter the first section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
