Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal device which collects foreign matters at the upstream side of a seal body and reduces influences of the foreign matters on the seal body.SOLUTION: A shaft seal device 1 is provided between a rotor and a stator enclosing the rotor and partitions a space between the rotor and the stator into a high pressure area S2 and a low pressure area in a center axis direction Da of the rotor. The shaft seal device 1 includes: a seal segment 20 fixed to the stator and protruding toward the rotor; and a foreign matter recovery part 50A provided in the high pressure area S2 at the upstream side of the seal segment 20 and formed with a foreign matter recovery space 54 located therein and an introduction hole 51d for introducing foreign matters in the high pressure area S2 into the foreign matter recovery space 54.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
