Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink having a high color developing property, capable of recording an image having an excellent hue, and having excellent storage stability.SOLUTION: An aqueous ink for ink jet contains a coloring material and a water-soluble organic solvent. The coloring material is a compound represented by the general formula (1) in the figure. The water-soluble organic solvent contains a first water-soluble organic solvent having two or more hydroxy groups and having a Log P value from -1.88 to -1.09 inclusive. The content (mass%) of the first water-soluble organic solvent is from 5.0 times to 30.0 times inclusive by a mass ratio to the content (mass%) of the coloring material.SELECTED DRAWING: None
