Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silencer and an air conditioner, capable of efficiently reducing noise with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A silencer (muffler) 1 includes: a body part 2 having a long cylindrical shape in an axis direction, and arranged so that the axial direction is substantially parallel with a vertical direction in installation; an inlet pipe 3a connected to an axial end part on one side of the body part 2 positioned above in installation, in a penetrated manner, and of which a tip 3a is arranged inside the body part 2; and an outlet pipe 4 connected to an axial end part on the other side opposite to the one side of the body part 2, which is positioned below in installation, and of which a tip 4a is arranged inside the body part 2. The inlet pipe 3 and the outlet pipe 4 are configured such that diameters of the tips 3a, 4a positioned inside the body part 2 are made smaller than a diameter of a connection portion between themselves and the body part 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
