Abstract:
To provide an air bag device which can minimize gas leakage from between a retainer and an inflator, and can smoothly inflate an air bag.SOLUTION: A retainer 55 comprises: a mounting base plate part 56; a holding part 72 which extends from the mounting base plate part and covers an outer peripheral side of an inflator 40; and mounting means which is protruded from the mounting base plate part so as to be approximately orthogonal to an axial direction of the inflator. The inflator comprises: a cylindrical body part 41 having a gas discharge part; and second mounting means 45 which is protruded from one end side of the body part. The mounting base plate part of the retainer comprises: a storage recess part 63 which allows the second mounting means to be inserted therein in such a manner that a protrusion direction of the second mounting means is made approximately the same as a protrusion direction of the mounting means; and a pressure-contact part 68 which is disposed at a position near the storage recess part. The pressure-contact part can be brought into pressure-contact with an outer peripheral surface 41c of the body part in a circumferential direction when the second mounting means is mounted on a vehicle body side member 29.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 25
