Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine including an exhaust gas recirculation device.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 10 including an exhaust gas recirculation device 50, includes a return valve 55 for determining an amount of exhaust gas to be recirculated to fresh air lanes 40, 41, and a control device for controlling the return valve on the basis of a combustion cycle. The control device opens and closes the return valve on the basis of angles of a crank shaft and/or a cam shaft by an angle measurement device. Opening of the return valve is adjusted on the basis of a pressure in an exhaust gas lane by a pressure sensor 24. The return valve can be driven through an electromagnetic actuator or a piezo-electric driving device, or by air pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
