Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and correctly conduct an inspection even when a plurality of different content's printed matters undergo image formation, using image data for different image formation.SOLUTION: An inspection device has: an area extraction unit that extracts a first area where characters are formed, and a second area where the character is not formed with reference to image data for image formation to be used in the image formation; and a defect detection unit that detects a defect of the first area and a defect of the second area in reading image data obtained by reading printed matters having the image formed by the image data for image formation, and inspects the printed matter having the image formed. The defect inspection unit is configured to include: a first area defect detection unit that detects a deficiency of dots in the first area in the reading image data; and a second area defect detection unit that detects existence of dots equal to or more than prescribed density in the second area in the reading image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
