Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of circumventing such a situation that deterioration of a desulfurization catalyst progresses relatively quickly during startup operation, while reducing the cost of manufacture.SOLUTION: An operation control section adjusts the distribution resistance of a fuel gas return path 13 to a relatively small state during startup operation, and performs desulfurization treatment in a desulfurization section 6, modification treatment in a modification section 3 and combustion treatment in a combustion section 8, in a state where power is not generated in a fuel cell section 5. During power generation operation after startup operation, the operation control section performs desulfurization treatment in the desulfurization section 6, modification treatment in the modification section 3 and combustion treatment in a combustion section 8, in a state where the distribution resistance of the fuel gas return path 13 is adjusted to a relatively large state and power is generated in the fuel cell section 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
