Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detection device of a spindle head of a machine tool which determines a component in which abnormality occurs and a cause of the abnormality.SOLUTION: A failure detection device 20 includes a formaldehyde sensor 47 which detects generation of formaldehyde, an oscillation sensor 41 which detects oscillation of a spindle head 6, and a machine control device 2 which detects occurrence of abnormality in spindle bearings 34, 35. The machine control device 2 determines occurrence of abnormality and a cause of the abnormality of the spindle bearings 34, 35 based on a time change of an output value of the formaldehyde sensor 47 and a time change of an output value of the oscillation sensor 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
