PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide spinel particles excellent in affinity to resin.SOLUTION: The method for producing a spinel particle comprising magnesium, aluminum, oxygen, and molybdenum atoms includes a sintering step of sintering a magnesium compound and an aluminum compound in the presence of a molybdenum atom and a compound having an additive atom to obtain a sintered compact, and a cooling step of cooling the sintered compact. The compound having an additive atom contains at least an atom selected from the group consisting of boron, silicon, scandium, vanadium, chromium, iron, manganese, cobalt, copper, niobium, yttrium, zirconium, and tungsten.SELECTED DRAWING: None
