Abstract:
To form an optimum clearance between a rotating shaft and a case.SOLUTION: A rotary joint 1 includes a columnar rotating shaft 2, cylindrical packings 3, 3a made of resin, and a case 5 having a bearing mounting portion 50 for mounting a bearing 4 supporting the rotating shaft 2. The case 5 includes a first packing mounting portion 53 and a second packing mounting portion 54 for mounting two packings 3, 3a while forming a space by separating them in a shaft center direction of the rotating shaft 2, and a micro clearance formed between inner side faces of the packing 3 mounted on the first packing mounting portion 53 and the packing 3b mounted on the second packing mounting portion 54, and an outer side face 22a of the rotating shaft 2 supported by the bearing 4 mounted on the bearing mounting portion 50, is sealed, so that the rotary joint 1 of high sealability can be provided without requiring components of high accuracy and high assembling technology.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
