Abstract:
To provide a gas source and an insufflation apparatus that is in close proximity to the gas source.SOLUTION: The invention provides an insufflation apparatus 1 having a housing 3 and a gas generator arranged to be at least partially mounted to the housing. The housing includes a gas outlet 9 for delivering gas to a patient and a gas storage chamber 7 arranged to store gas and deliver it to the gas outlet. The gas generator includes a cartridge mount 5 on the housing adapted to receive a gas generating cartridge 11, the gas generating cartridge containing gas generating material for generating gas to be delivered to the gas storage chamber. The invention also provides alternative insufflation apparatus, a gas cartridge, and a method of generating insufflation gas.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
