To provide a search support system that can search for an object that a user desires to search for.SOLUTION: A search support system comprises: a receiving unit that receives an input image from a user terminal; and an extraction unit that, when area information indicating a partial area in the input image is associated with the input image, extracts the contour of an image area of a first commodity from the partial area, and when the area information in the input image is not associated with the input image, extracts the contour of the entire image area including the first commodity from the input image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
