Abstract:
To prevent the occurrence of scratches on a belt and paper powder filming to form a high-quality image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 transfers, to a sheet P, a toner image formed on an intermediate transfer belt 17 having an elastic layer on its surface to form an image, and comprises: cleaning means 21 that is in contact with the intermediate transfer belt 17 after transfer of the toner image to the sheet P to remove an attachment attached to the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 17; and a brush member 22 that is provided upstream of the cleaning means 21 in a revolving direction of the intermediate transfer belt 17, and in contact with the intermediate transfer belt 17 after transfer of the toner image to the sheet P before the cleaning means 21 to clean the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 17. The brush member 22 is a loop brush in which brush fibers are provided in a loop shape.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
