Abstract:
To suppress the water coverage of an exhaust sensor resulting from a water component which is scattered when condensed water contained in bypass exhaust emission is boiled at an upstream-side end face of an exhaust emission purification catalyst.SOLUTION: This exhaust system of an internal combustion engine is constituted so that bypass exhaust emission being exhaust emission flowing out of a bypass passage flows while being oriented to a prescribed region at an upstream-side end face of an exhaust emission purification catalyst when an opening of a waste gate valve is not smaller than a prescribed opening, and an exhaust sensor is arranged in a specified passage being an exhaust emission passage between a turbine and the exhaust emission purification catalyst. In the exhaust sensor, the prescribed region is arranged along an axial direction of the exhaust emission purification catalyst to a direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the exhaust emission purification catalyst with respect to a region (scattered region B) which is virtually extended to the specified passage side while separating therefrom by a first distance or longer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
