Abstract:
To provide a rice cooker and a control method for the rice cooker capable of reducing time required for a dry-up process, and improving a taste of cooked rice.SOLUTION: A rice cooker 1 includes a pot 5, a heating part 11 for heating the pot 5, a temperature detection part 21 for detecting a temperature of cooked rice, and a control part 20 for controlling a heating coil 11 based on the temperature detected by the temperature detection part 21. The control part 20 controls a boiling process for increasing the temperature of the cooked rice to a boiling temperature at which the cooked rice boils, a boiling maintaining process for maintaining the temperature of the cooked rice at around a boiling temperature, and a dry-up process for increasing the temperature of the cooked rice to a dry-up temperature, which is higher than the boiling temperature. In the dry-up process, the control part supplies first power to the heating coil 11 until the temperature of the cooked rice reaches a predetermined temperature, which is higher than the boiling temperature and lower than the dry-up temperature, and after the temperature of the cooked rice reaches the predetermined temperature, supplies second power to the heating coil 11, which is higher than the first power.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
