Abstract:
To provide a wheel bearing device which is not impaired in the roundness of an inside rolling face formed at an inner ring by suppressing deformation by reducing a friction force applied to the inner ring, and to provide the wheel bearing device which does not cause a crack with a corroded region as a start point, and a crack passing the corroded region by suppressing the generation and the progress of corrosion by enhancing the corrosion resistance of the inner ring.SOLUTION: A wheel bearing device 1 comprises: an outer member 2 in which outside rolling faces 2c, 2d are formed at an internal periphery; an inner member 3 which is composed of a hub ring 31 having a small-diameter step part 3a, and at least one inner ring 32 externally fit to the small-diameter step part 3a, and in which inside rolling faces 3c, 3d opposing the outside rolling faces 2c, 2d are formed at an external periphery; and a plurality of rolling bodies 41 which are rollingly interposed between the rolling faces 2c, 2d and 3c, 3d of the outer member 2 and the inner member 3. The inner ring 32 is fixed by a caulking part 3h which is formed at the small-diameter step part 3a. Surface treatment is applied to an inner-side end face 3k of the inner ring 32 contacting with the caulking part 3h.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
