Abstract:
To provide a backlight device and a liquid crystal display device, capable of preventing reduction of luminance and ununiformity, and having improved display quality.SOLUTION: A backlight device comprises: a light guide plate LG comprising an emission surface S1 having a flat area FA, and an inclination area CA inclined from an end part of the flat area to the outside of the surface; a light source configured to make light incident into the light guide plate; and an optical diffusion sheet OS3 overlappingly arranged on the emission surface. The optical diffusion sheet OS3 has a diffusion flat area FAO overlapped with the flat area of the emission surface, and a diffusion inclination area CAO overlapped with the inclination area of the emission surface, and a haze value of the diffusion inclination area is higher than a haze value of the diffusion flat area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
