Abstract:
To provide a power-factor improvement circuit capable of improving an electric efficiency.SOLUTION: A power-factor improvement circuit comprises: one or more first arm circuits having at least a first inductor, a first switch element, and a second switch element; a polarity switching arm having at least a third switch element and a fourth switch element; one or more second arm circuits having at least a second inductor, a fifth witch element, and a sixth switch element; and a control part that controls a switching operation of the first to sixth switching elements. The control part performs a double arm control which operates both of the first and second arm circuits when the input current is larger than a threshold value, and performs a single arm control which operates only the first arm circuit when the input current is smaller than the threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
