Abstract:
To provide a holographic optical element whose optical transmittance is high and half value width of a diffraction peak is small and in which ghost light is suppressed, and also to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a holographic optical element 1 in which a volume hologram recording layer 11 is provided between two UV-absorbing layers 10. The volume hologram recording layer 11 includes: a high refractive index layer 11A containing a high molecular weight resin composition; and a low refractive index layer 11B containing a low molecular weight resin composition obtained by decomposing the high molecular weight resin composition. In at least the high refractive recording layer 11A, photocatalyst particles 12 are dispersed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
