Abstract:
To provide a production method that simultaneously achieves improvement both in a yield of the reaction and a reaction selectivity when producing a polyfluoroalkyl alcohol from a polyfluoroalkyliodide.SOLUTION: A polyfluorolakyliodide and a carboxylic acid secondary amide are reacted in the absence of a reaction solvent by heating with a microwave as a heat source. As a microwave has a property that it preferentially heats a high-polarity substance, it can give selectivity to heating and efficiently heats many intermediates in the reaction and can inhibit a side reaction of a compound which becomes instable under high temperature condition. Therefore, the selectivity of reaction can be enhanced and additionally the reaction time can be dramatically shortened because the reaction intermediates are preferentially heated. The selective heating can afford a high yield without using any reaction solvent.SELECTED DRAWING: None
