Abstract:
To provide a shock absorber and a method for manufacturing a shock absorber, which can reduce the number of components.SOLUTION: A shock absorber has an outer cylinder 21 and an inner cylinder 23, which are connected partially in the circumferential direction via connection parts 24 to be integrated. The shock absorber comprises a recess 112 formed on the outer peripheral side of a body valve 55, a caulked part 122 formed on one end side of the outer cylinder 21 and fitted in the recess 112, and an abutment part 51 provided on one end side of the inner cylinder 23 and abutting against the body valve 55. A method for manufacturing the shock absorber includes: a pressing step of abutting and pressing the body valve 55 against the abutment part 51 on the one end side of the inner cylinder 23; and a caulking step of, in the state that the body valve 55 is pressed by the pressing step, caulking the outer cylinder 21 to fit the same into the recess 112 on the outer peripheral side of the body valve 55.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
