Abstract:
To provide a tensioner that made the motion of a plunger more stable.SOLUTION: In a tensioner 20, a first opening 241 and a second opening 242 for leaking oil of a high-pressure chamber 240 to an exterior space are provided. The second opening 242 is larger than the first opening 241 in an opening area. A valve 250 of an opening variable mechanism 200 moves vertically via a push rod 270 in accordance with a posture of a ratchet cam 260 meshing with a rack 226 of a plunger 220 to open/close an opening 258 which communicates with the second opening 242. When the projection degree of the plunger 220 with respect to a body part 210 is smaller than a boundary position set in the middle of plunger stroke, the valve 250 closes and the oil in the high-pressure chamber 240 is not leaked from the second opening 242, and the leak down time becomes larger than when the projection degree of the plunger 220 is larger than the boundary position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
