To reduce the number of photosensors.SOLUTION: A paper feeding unit 200 comprises a detection unit 6. The detection unit 6 comprises a first actuator 61, a second actuator 62, a third actuator 63 and a photosensor 64. The first actuator 61 rotates in response to contact of a first paper P1 or a second paper P2. The first paper P1 has a first size S1. The second paper P2 has a second size S2 larger than the first size S1. The second actuator 62 rotates in response to the contact of the second paper P2. When the first paper P1 is sent, in response to the rotation of the first actuator 61, the third actuator 63 rotates to open an optical path PL of the photosensor 64 once. When the second paper P2 is sent, in response to the rotation of the first actuator 61 and the second actuator 62, the third actuator 63 rotates to open the optical path PL of the photosensor 64 twice.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
