Abstract:
To improve practical fuel economy while reducing risk of colliding with an obstacle.SOLUTION: An engine ECU 68 controls an idle stop operation for an engine 12 that is mounted to a vehicle 10. More specifically, the engine ECU 68 searches obstacles around the vehicle 10 and, when a search result indicates "non-detection," permits the idle stop operation, while on the other hand, when a search result indicates "detection," restricts the idle stop operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
