Abstract:
To provide a composition highly containing highly unsaturated fatty acid.SOLUTION: There are provided a method for producing a highly unsaturated fatty acid alkyl ester-containing composition which includes: bringing a raw material containing highly unsaturated fatty acid alkyl ester into contact with an aqueous solution containing silver salt, and then collecting an aqueous phase; adding an organic solvent to the aqueous phase, and then collecting an organic solvent phase; and subjecting the organic solvent phase to vacuum distillation at a temperature of 170-190°C and a degree of overhead vacuum of 1 Pa or less, and collecting highly unsaturated fatty acid alkyl ester from the organic solvent phase; and a highly unsaturated fatty acid alkyl ester-containing composition produced by the method.SELECTED DRAWING: None
