Abstract:
To distinguish the types of individual microorganisms which exist on one culture medium, and count colonies of each microorganism.SOLUTION: A colony detection system 1 comprises: a culture medium 2 which cultures a specific microorganism contained in a specimen to allow a colony being an aggregate of cultured specific microorganism to appear; an imaging part 3 which captures an image of the culture surface of the culture medium; a culture medium selecting part 5a which selects a type of the culture medium; and a colony counting part 8 which performs treatment corresponding to the type of the culture medium selected by the culture medium selecting part to an image captured by the imaging part, and counts the number of colonies cultured on the culture medium. The colony counting part has: a colony detecting part which detects colonies included in the image captured by the imaging part according to the type of the culture medium selected by the culture medium selecting part; and a count processing part which counts the number of colonies by each color on the basis of the colonies detected by the colony detecting part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
