Abstract:
To estimate SARs (specific absorption rates) in a short time without underestimating them.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus 100 according to the present embodiment includes a human body model selection unit, an SAR estimation unit, and an imaging control unit. The human model selection unit selects a human body model in accordance with the body shape of a subject from among a plurality of human body models. The SAR estimation unit estimates a plurality of topical SARs in a plurality of evaluation points which are determined using the selected human body model, based on at least one of the amplitude and the phase of an RF pulse in an imaging protocol related to the magnetic resonance imaging scheduled for the subject and the selected human body model. The imaging control unit executes the imaging protocol using the amplitude and the phase of the RF pulse corresponding to the estimated topical SARs.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
