Abstract:
To provide a driving method for a light-emitting device by which luminance of a light-emitting element is prevented from varying due to characteristics of a TFT that controls current supplied to the light-emitting element, the luminance of the light-emitting element is prevented from decreasing due to deterioration in an organic luminescent layer, and further constant luminance can be obtained regardless of the deterioration or temperature change of the organic luminescent layer.SOLUTION: Luminance of a light-emitting element 234 is controlled not by voltage to be applied to a TFTTr2 but current I2 that flows to the TFTTr2 in a signal line drive circuit, thereby current I2 that flows to the light-emitting element 234 is held at a desired value regardless of characteristics of the TFTTr2. Further, voltage of inverted bias is applied to the light-emitting element 234 at regular intervals. Since multiplier effect is given by the two configurations described above, it is possible to prevent the luminance from decreasing due to deterioration in the organic luminescent layer, and further, it is possible to maintain the current that flows to the light-emitting element 234 at the desired value regardless of the characteristics of the TFTTr2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 19
