Abstract:
To solve the problem in which it takes a lot of time to align the polarization direction of an optical system with the light modulation direction of an optical element cassette included in an optical unit when incorporating the optical unit enabling light modulation into the optical system.SOLUTION: An optical unit includes: a housing attachable to and detachable from a prescribed optical system in a first direction; and an optical element cassette that applies light modulation to polarization light of the optical system, has a prescribed modulation direction, and is detachably attached to the housing so that the modulation direction is held in a univocal direction with relative to the optical axis of the optical system.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
