Abstract:
To more reliably select an appropriate separation state according to the type of a document to appropriately feed a document.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: a reading unit that reads a document; a document placement part on which a document is placed; a feeding roller that feeds out the document from the document placement part; a separation roller that is a roller nipping the document with the feeding roller, and can be switched between a separation state for performing separation of the document and a non-separation state for not performing separation of the document; and a control unit that controls the feeding of the document, wherein the control unit determines whether to perform the feeding in the separation state or perform the feeding in the non-separation state, on the basis of the type of the document set through a user interface for instructing selection of the type of the document to be read and the start of reading.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
