Abstract:
To feed sheets without occurrence of non-feed even if the amount of stacked envelopes is small when sheets are fed in order from the lowermost envelope.SOLUTION: The medium conveying apparatus includes: a stack unit 210 that loads envelopes M in a forward inclined state; a sheet feeding unit 220 having a sheet feeding belt 221 provided below the stack unit for feeding the lowermost envelope M in a transport direction; and a pressing guide member 234 provided downstream of the stack unit 210 in the transport direction, for supporting a plurality of envelopes M by being supported so as to be tiltable by a biasing force that abuts on an end of the stacked envelopes M in the transport direction and acts on the upstream side in the transport direction. As loading capacity of the envelopes M decreases, by tilting to the upstream side in the transport direction by the biasing force, the pressing guide member 234 holds the envelope M between the pressing guide member and the sheet feed belt to increase a sheet feed force Fc of the sheet feed belt.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
