Abstract:
To provide a technology for calculating a relative angle between image areas with a small amount of calculation.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: a determination unit that calculates a coefficient of an approximation function so as to approximate a luminance value of a pixel included in a first area by a curved surface of the predetermined approximation function and uses the coefficient as a first coefficient, and calculates a coefficient of the approximation function so as to approximate a luminance value of a pixel included in a second area by the approximation function and uses the coefficient as a second coefficient; and a calculation unit that determines a first rotation angle indicating a direction of the approximation function using the first coefficient, determines a second rotation angle indicating a direction of the approximation function using the second coefficient, and calculates a relative angle between the first rotation angle and the second rotation angle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
