Abstract:
To provide a technology capable of attaining reduction in weight of a speed reduction device.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a speed reduction device 10 comprising: a casing 40 in which an internal gear 34 is provided; an external gear 32 which is meshed with the internal gear 34; and a carrier 36 which is disposed in an axial side part of the external gear 32 and supported in a freely rotatable manner by the casing 40. A hollow part 24 penetrating in an axial direction X is provided in a radially central part. The speed reduction device also comprises: a center pipe 42 which is disposed while penetrating the external gear 32 and the carrier 36 and constitutes the hollow part 24; and a protection member 44 which is disposed at a position axially adjacent to an end of the center pipe 42 and constitutes an end of the hollow part 24. The protection member 44 is fixed to the carrier 36 and disposed at a position which is settled radially inside of a circumscribed circle of a maximum diameter Ra circumscribed to the carrier 36 around a center axial line La of the internal gear 34.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
