Abstract:
To provide a liquid crystal display that can prevent a reduction in brightness of a display image despite the use of a plurality of display panels.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display 1 comprises: a first liquid crystal cell 10; a second liquid crystal cell 20 arranged on the back side of the first liquid crystal cell 10; a first polarizing plate 31 arranged on the front side of the first liquid crystal cell 10; a second polarizing plate 32 arranged between the first liquid crystal cell 10 and second liquid crystal cell; a third polarizing plate 33 arranged between the second polarizing plate 32 and second liquid crystal cell 20; and a fourth polarizing plate 34 arranged on the back side of the second liquid crystal cell 20. When the degree of polarization of the first polarizing plate 31, second polarizing plate 32, third polarizing plate 33, and fourth polarizing plate 34 are P1, P2, P3, and P4, respectively, any one of the relational expression P1>P2, P3, P4, the relational expression P4>P1, P2, P3, and the relational expression P1, P4>P2, P3 is satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
