Abstract:
To determine at imaging time whether a captured image is actually in-focus and classify captured images into ranks at recording time on the basis of an in-focus state.SOLUTION: A camera controller 212 controls the drive of a focus lens included in a lens group 101 on the basis of the result of first focus detection by a defocus amount detection unit 216. The defocus amount detection unit 216 performs second focus detection on the basis of image data acquired by a first imaging element that outputs image data that corresponds to a subject image at a focus lens position based on said control. The camera controller 212 exercises control so that the focus state of the image data based on the output of the first imaging element is evaluated on the basis of the result of second focus detection and information relating to the evaluation is recorded together with data that corresponds to the image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
