Abstract:
To provide a steering device which can avoid that an adverse effect is exerted to a steering feeling even if a support member of a rack guide mechanism is inclined.SOLUTION: A steering device 1 comprises: a rack shaft 3 and a pinion shaft 23; a first cylinder part 41 for accommodating the rack shaft 3; a housing 4 having a second cylinder part 42 for accommodating the pinion shaft 23, and a third cylinder part 43 having an axial hole 430 extending in a direction intersecting with the first cylinder part 41 and the second cylinder part 42; a cap 7 for blocking an opening of the axial hole 430; a support member 8 having an axial end face 81a opposing the cap 7 in an axial direction, and supporting the rack shaft 3 by being brought into slide-contact with a back face 3a of the rack shaft 3 in the axial hole 430; and a coil spring 60 for energizing the support member 8 toward the rack shaft 3. The support member 8 has an abutment face 81c abutting on the cap 7 when the coil spring 60 is compressed at the axial end face 81a, and an annular thickness-reduced part 810 is formed at an external peripheral end part of the axial end face 81a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
