Abstract:
To provide systems and methods for powering an electric aerial vehicle.SOLUTION: A power source 100 for an electric propulsion system 118 of an aerial vehicle 110 includes a body having an electrical energy storage device 138 configured to store electrical energy. The power source also includes a plurality of terminals 242 coupled to an electrical energy storage device for supplying electrical energy from an electrical energy storage device to an electric propulsion system of the aerial vehicle. The power source further includes a plurality of flight control surfaces 126 extending outwardly from the body. The flight control surfaces are actuatable to adjust a flight attitude of the power source. Additionally, the power source includes a flight control system 256 including a processor and the flight control system is configured to actuate a plurality of flight control surfaces to fly the power source to a target location when the power source is dropped from the aerial vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
