Abstract:
To provide a saddle-riding type vehicle that can properly perform adjustment of engine output for changing a gear ratio of a transmission by accurately determining whether or not intentional shift operation by a driver is made.SOLUTION: There are set, in an ECU 50, a first threshold concerning a load applied to a shift pedal 210, a second threshold larger than the first threshold, and a reference time. A load sensor SE5 detects a load applied to a shift pedal 210 by a driver. A time from the time point when a load detection value exceeds the first threshold up to the time point when the load detection value exceeds the second threshold is measured as an operation time. When the operation time is equal to or less than the reference time, the operation of the shift pedal 210 by the driver is determined to be shift operation for changing a gear ratio of a transmission 5. When the operation time is longer than the reference time, the operation is determined not to be shift operation for changing a gear ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
