Abstract:
To attain combustion of a latter-term focus type heat generation pattern in a premixing compression ignition type engine, thereby reducing combustion noise and suppressing abnormal combustion.SOLUTION: A premixing compression ignition type engine comprises: a combustion chamber 6 sectioned by a cylinder 2 and a piston 5, and capable of combusting air-fuel mixture of fuel and air by self-ignition; an injector 14 injecting fuel into the combustion chamber 6; a water injection device 17 injecting water into the combustion chamber 6; and a water injection control unit 102 controlling operation of the water injection device 17. The water injection control unit 102, after fuel injection of the injector 14, injects water into a center side first region R1 excluding an outer peripheral part RE in a radial direction B of the combustion chamber 6, of the combustion chamber 6 at timing in a period from before start of low-temperature oxidation reaction of the air-fuel mixture and before start of high-temperature reaction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
