Abstract:
To provide an outer shell which can secure mechanical strength while achieving weight reduction, and to provide a manufacturing method of the outer shell.SOLUTION: An outer shell 1 of the invention is formed into a cylindrical shape with a close bottom and an opening one end. The outer shell 1 includes a first attachment part 10. The first attachment part 10 is provided at a bottom part side end part 1A and a knuckle bracket 40 is attached to an outer peripheral surface thereof. The first attachment part 10 has a first thick part 11, a second thick part 12, and a thin part 13. The first thick part 11 is provided at the bottom part side and is formed with a first welding part 41 which connects one end part of the knuckle bracket 40. The second thick part 12 is provided at the opening side and formed with a second welding part 42 which connects the other end part of the knuckle bracket 40. The thin part 13 is provided between the first thick part 11 and the second thick part 12 and is formed thinner than the first thick part 11 and the second thick part 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
