Abstract:
To provide a droplet discharge device and method capable of continuing liquid delivery to a discharge head when delivering a liquid material between optional tanks.SOLUTION: A droplet discharge device comprises: a droplet discharge head; a feed tank communicating with a first pressurization source; a recovery tank communicating with a first negative pressure source; a makeup tank communicating with the feed and recovery tanks; a shut-off valve A opening or closing the flow channel communicating the feed tank with the makeup tank; a shut-off valve B opening or closing the flow channel communicating the recovery tank with the makeup tank; a switch-over valve switching the communication of the makeup tank with a second pressurization source, and that of the makeup tank with a second negative pressure source; and a controller. The controller has: a discharge mode discharging a liquid material from the droplet discharge head; a makeup mode feeding the material from the makeup tank to the feed tank while feeding from the feed tank to the recovery tank; and a recovery mode feeding the material from the recovery tank to the makeup tank while feeding from the feed tank to the recovery tank. A droplet discharge method using the above device is also provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
